The Hawks beat a number of clubs across Southern NSW for the signature of Sedgwick, who had agreed to play with EWK in the COVID-affected 2020 season before the Farrer League competition was called off.
Sedgwick is a three-time premiership player at Brocklesby-Burrumbuttock and won the Azzi Medal in 2014 for the best and fairest player in the Hume League.
The 28-year-old started this season at Ovens and Murray League club Lavington, before a mid-season return to the Saints.
Sedgwick also won the Ovens and Murray League rising star award during a prior 21-game stint at Lavington.
His signing continues a strong off-season recruitment drive for the Hawks, who have already welcomed Corey McCarthy on board, as well as secured a number of re-signings.
EWK finished second in this year's Farrer League home and away competition, before the finals series was called off due to COVID.
The Hawks say they are looking forward to Sedgwick bringing 'excitement, class, experience and leadership' to Gumly Oval next year.
