Cricket Albury-Wodonga named its representative squad last week with only one Hopper in veteran all-rounder Tim Hartshorn.

Dashing opener Ash Borella was overlooked and has made the stunning decision to play for opponents Wagga Sloggers, with Regional Bash rules allowing an association to sign an outside marquee player.

"Unfortunately I didn't get selected for the Border Bullets and at the end of the day there was an opportunity to play with the Wagga Sloggers and the aim is to play on the SCG," he offered.

His president is bitterly disappointed.

"I reckon it's an absolute disgrace our club's been overlooked," he revealed.

"I'd say our wicketkeeper (Ben Fulford) is the best wicketkeeper in our comp by a long way.

"Have a look at (Jarryd) Hatton's stats and Haydyn's (North quick Haydyn Roberts) stats and tell me which one you'd pick?"

Roberts is the association's equal leader for wickets with 10 at 13, while Riverina left-armer Hatton has four at 16.

Paddle is also stunned that former ACT captain and current North coach Matt Condon wasn't contacted.

"I've never seen anyone who sees the game like he does, he wasn't even asked," he stressed.

Two-time Victorian Premier club best and fairest Liam Scammell is co-coaching with Riverina mentor Trent Ball.

"We picked the squad which gives us the best chance, but we're happy to take calls from disappointed players," Scammell replied.
