The trial of four people accused of an alleged machete attack has been aborted after a legal issue arose during the second day of proceedings.

Sarah Anne McGrath, 35, Haydn Patrick Smith, 51, George Stoll, 25, and Bradley Triffitt, 31, were charged following the alleged incident at Junee in May 2020.
All of them pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to a person with intent and an alternative charge of wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Mr Triffitt also pleaded not guilty to being armed with a hammer with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The jury trial, which was expected to run for at least two weeks, began in Wagga District Court on Monday.
Crown prosecutor Max Pincott, Mr Stoll's barrister Michael King, and Mr Smith's barrister Colin Heazlewood all delivered opening statements.
However, Judge Gordon Lerve made the decision to abort the trial and discharge the jury halfway through Tuesday's proceedings.
"Through the fault of nobody, an issue has risen that simply means this trial cannot continue," he told the jurors. "I am obliged to discharge you without verdict."
The trial has now been stood over and is due to begin on June 20, 2022.
