When Mitchell Curley placed an ad on Gumtree 18 months ago, little did he know it would kickstart a journey that is culminating in a nationwide music tour.

Born and raised in Bowral in NSW's Southern Highlands, Curley is one half of the electronic duo Rumor, with the other being none other than Justice Crew's Len Pearce.
For Curley, who only switched to electronic music two years ago, it's vindication of a decade-long struggle.
"I always loved electronic music but stuck with acoustic for so long because that's what people said suited me," he told the Southern Highland News.
"It got to a point where I'd been trying for eight years, it wasn't going anywhere so I might as well invest in what I love.
"My real breakthrough though was when I lost my job at the start of COVID, the company I was working for went under.
"I was looking for something to do while looking for work so I put up an ad on Gumtree saying I was a songwriter looking for a producer. Lenny Pearce from Justice Crew ended up seeing it, hit me up and then boom!"
Boom indeed. The duo's first single, 'Let me go' was the number one independent song on Australian radio for four weeks in a row.
The song holds personal meaning for the 28-year old, who has credited his unwavering self-belief for overcoming demons.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Rather than sitting at home and saying poor me I said it's time to do something, so I went out there and chased the dream," he said pointedly.
"My family has always been supportive but I think the main person who has been supportive is myself to be honest. When it gets hard and things aren't happening, people can lose faith in you a bit and maybe doubt what you're trying to do.
"You have to be your number one supporter I think. I've always had faith in myself and now it's paying off."
What next for the kid from Bowral High? Well, in the year his school reunion was due to be held, Curley will instead be heading off on a national tour with a new single, 'Running Away'.
"The new single is already grabbing a ton of momentum, it's across all major commercial stations so I think that will help support the tour," he said.
