Wagga Veteran Michael Wood is on a mission to raise $80,000 for a hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chamber which he said could save the life of fellow ex-servicemen and lifelong mate Brad Fewson.
The 43-year-old Wagga father-of-three, husband and former athlete, policeman and paratrooper's health has been slowly deteriorating since 2015 due to a 'terminal condition'.

Mr Fewson said the oxygen therapy helps to give him a quality of life.
While Mr Wood is adamant he does not wish to attack the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA), he does alleged the need for raising funds being due to the DVA 'subsequently cutting off' the financial support they are 'supposed' to give.
"The DVA has been essentially waiting for my mate to die," Mr Woods said.
Mr Wood and Mr Fewson met while serving in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) where they developed a friendship like no other.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Since leaving the ADF, Mr Wood has had to endure watching Mr Fewson's health deteriorate, but he will no longer stand by without putting up a fight.
So far, Mr Wood has raised $1,500 through a GoFundMe page which has been set up to accumulate and distribute donations made by members of the community and loved one for a HBOT chamber.
The funds will go to the family directly.
"I would like for Brad to have his own chamber in his home or home town so he can receive the daily treatment needed to give him life," he said.
A 'humbled' Mr Fewson hadn't been aware Mr Wood was planning on creating the GoFundMe page and is adamant on sharing the hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber with other community members who need the treatment.
"This will help everyone, veterans and civilians, by bringing medical grade HBOT to 1000s to our region," he said.
Oxygen therapy is used to treat decompression sickness which can be caused by multiple conditions.
The Daily Advertiser reached out to the DVA for comment but are yet to receive an official response.
