Assistant principal Justin Graham said the staff at Wagga Public School first started a registered Movember fundraising team two years ago- an idea that came into light at the hands of female staff member Alex Brentnall.
"We have had a real focus on our school culture, we teach our kids to be brave and seek help and to be vulnerable and Movember is a really good way to get behind that message," Mr Graham said.
Mr Graham said the moustaches often evoke conversation around what they stand for, which is to raise awareness around men's health issues, such as prostate cancer and testicular cancer, as well as men's suicide.
"When the kids and parents ask us about our terrible moustache's, we tell them the story behind it," Mr Graham said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We obviously have appropriate conversations, contextually with the age of the kids, about when we're not feeling ok, that we talk to each other and we tell our family, and how we can seek help.
"Our main takeaway is raising awareness and encouraging conversations."
"We all have beards and moustaches in all different shapes and sizes and we're often asked about them, but the main thing is to come together for a really good cause- which is something each staff member as well as our school community values."
But while it's the male teachers who grow the mo's, they are definitely not the only one's contributing to the cause.
"It hasn't just been the male teachers, we do have fabulous female teachers as well," Mr Graham said.
"We all have friends and family, someone we love, who has been touched by health issues."
