Hudson was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes in October of this year after falling ill with diabetic ketoacidosis.
Upon recovery and learning to live with the condition, parents Kellie Trew and Russ Lang created a GoFundMe page to help raise the funds needed to secure an insulin pump- which sells for upwards of $8,500.
IN OTHER NEWS:
In just a little over a month since creating the page, it accumulated $8,000 in funds- enough for the family to make the order they had desperately been awaiting.
As Hudson waits for his pump to arrive, just in time for kindergarten in the new year, he would like to give a big thanks to all who helped him.
"Thank you, everyone, for my insulin pump," he said while beaming from ear to ear.
Ms Trew said the pump is on its way.
"Delivery can take a few weeks but we will keep everyone updated on Hudson's journey via my Facebook page," she said.
"We cannot thank everyone enough for the donations, kind words and support we have received in the four weeks since Hudson's diagnosis."
