An police investigation has been launched into an alleged armed robbery in Wagga yesterday evening.

Around 5.15pm on Thursday, emergency services were called to the Mount Austin Fast n Ezy service station on Ceduna Street following reports of an armed robbery.
Several marked patrol cars were seen travelling through Central Wagga, and then south on Edmondson Street at high speed soon after.
On arrival, officers attached to the Riverina Police District were told a man had entered the store and threatened the attendant before fleeing the scene on foot with cash and cigarettes.
It is understood just one person was involved and a weapon may have been brandished in the ordeal.

A crime scene was established and the service station cordoned off, with officers trawling the neighbourhood and surrounding streets speaking to residents.
A spokesperson with NSW Police confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.
