Gray, 23, has primarily been down back in his career, which includes playing some NEAFL with Eastlake as a rookie.

He said the desire for a change is behind the decision and attending Marrar's recent presentation function only added to the players' commitment to join the country club.

"It'll be a change of scenery, change of people, and everyone was very welcoming. The boys and I really enjoyed it," Gray said.

"I kind of fell in love with the community feel as soon as I was there. I'm definitely looking forward to what's going to be a good year on and off the field.

"I expect a good standard. I've heard some good things about the Farrer League and I know a few players who have played at Tuggeranong and in Canberra who have been out there and say it's a good, tough standard of footy."

Gray played NEAFL alongside returning Temora gun Sam Jensen and knows Barellan coach (and former Tuggeranong star) Alex Lawder well. The Two Blues have a handful of Canberra-based players, as will The Rock-Yerong Creek.

Joining Gray at Marrar, Toy, 26, is an experienced midfielder/forward. He's been limited in game time the last couple of seasons due to COVID and recovery from injury, but has been at Tuggeranong since Gray came into seniors.

"Bill's a typical inside mid who's going to put his head over the footy for the team and can play that inside role," he said.

Kent, 20, is only a few seasons into a senior career and is likely to have a role on a wing or a flank.

"Gus will bring a bit of speed off a wing, running hard both ways and I definitely think he'll be out there for the switch kick and if we need that outside run," Gray said.

"So I guess it's three different styles of footy and we're excited about it."

For Gray himself, the change of scenery could also be positional, with the Bombers tempted to use him up forward, given their back six was settled around Harry Reynolds and Liam James last season.

"He'll possibly start at centre-half-forward. I thought our back six last year was pretty strong and it should be similar," Marrar coach Shane Lenon said.

"But he can play back or forward and that's the beauty of a bloke like him. We could even use him to pinch-hit in the ruck if we needed to."

Gray said he's looking forward to whatever challenges he's handed, including some leadership responsibilities he's already taken on.

"We've got a couple of young blokes going to uni in Canberra plus the three we've obviously recruited so Logan is going to help out in a leadership-type role and take control of the training in Canberra," Lenon said.

"He's been in the leadership group in Tuggeranong and he's keen to be involved so he'll get that opportunity."

Marrar believe the trio's range of playing positions as well as their experience will ensure they add variety and depth to the side.

"We're rapt to have them on board," Lenon said.

"They'll be real good assets for us and they'll buy in too. They're keen to be involved in the social side of the club and I think they'll fit into our culture really well."

Marrar's new players should get a good gauge on the standard of the competition pretty quickly, with the Bombers facing a tough start to the season.

Their season will begin at home at Langtry Oval on April 2 with a showdown against fellow powerhouse East Wagga-Kooringal.

The Bombers and Hawks filled the top two spots on the ladder this year.

In rounds two and three they'll take on the teams that finished fourth and fifth this season, travelling to North Wagga before hosting The Rock-Yerong Creek (after the Easter general bye).

Marrar's fourth game is the tough road trip to Coleambally.
