The Giants confirmed Schneider's departure on Thursday afternoon, with Schneider expected to be announced as the new coach of Lavington.
Schneider and his family are set to move to Albury.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity the Giants gave me to coach at the elite level and I've loved my time working with such a great group of players," Schneider said.
"Spending so much time away from home over the past two years was difficult. After some careful thinking, the time is now right for me to move out of the industry and begin the next chapter with my family."
Giants general manager of football Jason McCartney thanked Schneider for his contribution.

"Adam, like all our players and staff, sacrificed a lot in his dedication to our football program, particularly over the past two years," McCartney said.
"His genuine care for the players and love of the club was consistently evident.
"We wish Adam and his family all the best with their move to Albury."
Schneider joined the Giants ahead of the 2018 season, initially as NEAFL coach before stepping up to take on assistant's role.
The 37-year-old enjoyed a fine AFL career as a player, playing 228 games across stints at Sydney and St Kilda.
