A medical centre in Wagga has finished contact tracing and cleaning after it was visited by a COVID-positive person last week.
A staff member at Kooringal Medical Centre confirmed that the site was visited by a COVID-positive patient on Monday, November 1.
The centre was notified of the exposure by NSW Health around 12pm on Wednesday, with the doctor who attended to the patient sent home until they return a negative COVID test.
The medical centre underwent a deep clean. Both the COVID-positive patient and the attending doctor are fully vaccinated, and the doctor is not showing any symptoms of the virus.
All of the patients booked in to see the doctor sent home on Wednesday were still able to attend their appointments virtually, with the doctor providing online consultations from home.
"We did not turn any of our patients away, it will not affect any of their consultations," the staff member said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The medical centre is open "business as usual", and the staff member encouraged anyone in the community who is not yet double-vaccinated against COVID-19 to come forward as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that a Wagga childcare centre has had a COVID-19 exposure.
When contacted by The Daily Advertiser, the centre declined to confirm or deny the reports.
