The Murrumbidgee Local Health District is urging anyone who attended the funeral last Friday at Chambers Park, Tolland to come forward for testing and self-isolate until they receive a negative result, unless otherwise directed by NSW Health.
The MLHD initially said the funeral was attended by "a large number of people", and on Tuesday this was clarified to a figure of around 300 people.
"We estimate that approximately 300 people attended that site, a large number who were Indigenous," MLHD acting director of public health, Alison Nikitas, said.
She also echoed calls for anyone who attended the funeral to come forward for testing.
Ms Nikitas has now revealed that the COVID-positive person visited the school during their infectious period on November 3 and 4.
"The school is currently working to identify all close and casual contacts and provide advice to those people," she said.
"They will be contacted directly by the school.
"All parents are reminded to only come forward for testing as per the advice they receive."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Earlier on Tuesday a statement from the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga asked all staff and students to self-isolate until they receive further advice.
Ms Nikitas said that in response to the COVID exposures at both the funeral and primary school, testing capabilities have been ramped up in Wagga.
"There is testing today [November 9] at Tolland Community Centre until 3pm, Murray Street testing centre until 6pm and we also have plans to open up the MLHD drive through testing centre again in Wagga," she said.
"Laverty Pathology also has its drive through open at the Riverina Playhouse carpark."
