Goannas committee member Seymour has been involved with football operations, and will effectively swap roles with Cunningham after he opted to stand down after two years to focus on his fledgling floor tiling business.
He took up the presidency at just 24 years of age and led through a tough period for all clubs dealing with the challenges of COVID.
A commercial real estate director at Fitzpatrick's Real Estate, Seymour said the club had urged Cunningham to continue after the club secured a top two spot before the Riverina League finals series was abandoned.
"We encouraged Jesse to stick around for another year, because he has been instrumental in bringing the club to its current position," Seymour said.
IN OTHER NEWS
"He's certainly put the club in a really strong position, but he's a young bloke who has a business to run and he needs to focus on that.
"It was two stressful seasons, a lot of uncertainty with the restrictions we had to operate under.
"I bring a business head to the committee and hopefully can assist with some of those financial decisions. Running a footy club is very much a business these days."
Cunningham said he felt he wouldn't be able to devote as much time to the presidency had he continued.
"Being nearly 12 months into my own business it's a bit too much to juggle," he said.
"Once I commit to something I want to be fully committed to it, and if I can't I'd rather give my time when I can.
