The midfielder was a stand-out throughout the Hume League season and it was little surprise to see him prevail at the club's vote count on Friday night.
"It's awesome, I love it," Harrington said.
"Obviously you want to win finals but if you're not going to, it's good to win things like that.
"This year it just seemed to come together every game for me and the side we had definitely helped.
"Our football probably deserved to make finals but we were a little bit up and down. We nearly matched it with Osborne when we played them but then we lost to Howlong in the last round.
"It was a bit like that for us."

Jake Phillips was runner-up to Harrington, with Blake Jones named most courageous and Graham O'Connell most determined.
The coaches award went to Chayte Burkinshaw while Andrew Emery took out the Demons' goal-kicking title.
Holly Murphy won Lockhart's A grade netball best and fairest, with Olivia Lang finishing runner up.
Ian Pertzel was named Club Person of the Year, while Rebecca Mathews took out the Paul Trevaskis Most Dedicated Memorial Award.
