The nominations were released on Monday for the Gundagai feature, which has attracted 28 entries from across NSW and Victoria.
Sydney trainers Jason Coyle, Peter Robl, Marc Connors and Wendy Roche have all nominated horses for the iconic country feature.
The Claire Lever-trained Highly Desired, who was a last-start sixth placing in the $700,000 Four Pillars (1500m), is one the best-credentialed gallopers among an even group of nominations.
Marc Connor's Nictock ran third behind Blaze A Trail at Rosehill last Saturday, while few will enter in better form than Donna Scott's Stan Sadleir Stakes winner Takissacod.
Canberra is again well-represented in the race with nine of the 28 nominations, headed by Nick Olive's Gundagai Cup winner Maid Of Ore.
Long-serving Gundagai Adelong Racing Club secretary Len Tozer expects the race to come together well.
"We got the pick of the area and there's a couple from interstate there too," Tozer said.
"We don't expect Wagga or Albury Cup fields for the Snake Gully Cup but we're happy with what we've got there."

The big query this week will be the state of the track with heavy rain forecast for late in the week.
The Gundagai track was rated a heavy eight on Monday.
"We can't control the weather so we'll keep our fingers crossed we don't get too much. Everything is ok at the moment."
Gundagai trainer David Blundell has nominated Thistledo for the event, giving hope the locals will have a hometown hope to cheer for on Friday.
The club received 194 nominations in total for the eight-race showcase meeting, that will offer $380,000 in prizemoney.
The $50,000 Snake Gully Flying (1000m) attracted 30 nominations, including the likes of Star Boy, Liberty Sun, Proud Mia and Bombdiggity.
The Gundagai club released more tickets last week, that were quickly snapped up, and will now host a crowd of 2200, abiding to COVID-19 restrictions.
