The Murrumbidgee Local Health District has reported that 97 per cent of those over the age of 16 have now received their first jab, as the region record 17 new COVID cases.
The MLHD has also expressed their condolences following the death of an Albury man in his 60s, which becomes the ninth death to be recorded in the district since the start of the current outbreak.
88.8 per cent of those over 16 across the MLHD are now double vaccinated, as NSW edges closer to a 90 per cent overall milestone.
118 COVID-19 patients are currently in clinical care across the local health district, with a total of 737 cases reported since the start of the delta variant.
A new case has been recorded in Wagga after a resident tested positive for the virus, yet no new venues of concern have been identified by NSW Health.
Throughout the rest of the district, 14 new cases have been identified in the Albury LGA and two in the Federation LGA.
Fragments of the virus have been detected in sewage in Albury, Wagga, Young and Griffith in the past 24 hours.

Since the start of the outbreak:
- 575 cases have been recorded in Albury LGA,
- 35 cases in Murray River LGA,
- 32 cases in Greater Hume LGA,
- 25 cases in Hilltops LGA,
- 17 cases in Wagga Wagga LGA,
- 15 cases in Edward River LGA,
- 14 cases in Federation LGA,
- 12 cases in Berrigan LGA,
- Four in Griffith LGA
- Two cases in both the Coolamon and Murrumbidgee LGAs,
- and one case in each of the Temora, Lockhart, Cootamundra-Gundagai and Snowy Valley's LGAs.
The MLHD is encouraging those particularly aged 12-15 to get vaccinated after recent local figures show 80.2 per cent of the group have received their first jab, and 58.3 per cent are double-dosed, dragging behind the state's average of 68.6 per cent.
In addition, anyone who is experiencing the following symptoms of COVID-19 is asked to get tested: fever, sore throat, cough, headache, running nose, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches or pains, and a change in taste or smell.

MORE ON THE PANDEMIC:
Across the state and 244 locally-acquired cases were reported by NSW Health on Sunday morning, as of 8pm the night before, a drop in comparison to Saturday's figures.
One death was recorded, that being the Albury man in his 60's which NSW Health reports was not vaccinated.
537 COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in NSW since 16 June 2021 and 593 in total since the start of the pandemic last year.
NSW's double-dose currently stands at 89.7 per cent, a 0.3 per cent rise from yesterday's number that pushes the state closer to a 90 per cent milestone.
The number of those over the age of sixteen that have received at least one dose currently sits at 93.9 per cent.
The number of COVID tests did decline to 70,000 COVID, and across the state, 269 people with the virus are in hospital, 52 of which are in ICU.
Following Monday's lift of the international travel ban, no new overseas cases were reported in NSW's numbers today.
