It ensured a winning start to the weekend, and the continuation of a hot streak for the stables of Tim Donnelly.
Revellers was having only his fourth start for the Wagga trainer and had to survive a protest before the second straight win was confirmed.
Under a front-running ride from jockey Mathew Cahill, Revellers ($6) beat the Danny Williams-trained Shelby Sixtysix by less than a length.
Beaten jockey Shaun Guymer claimed interference at the 150m mark, when he'd tried to squeeze the $3.40 favourite through a tight gap on the rail, only to then have to go around Revellers instead.
Stewards didn't agree, ensuring a third career win at start 21 for the So You Think gelding.
It cost Guymer a double to open the meeting, after steering Lady Kermadec to a second straight win for border trainer David O'Prey in the class 1 and maiden plate (1600m).
O'Prey had his own double when a well-backed Zoulon (ridden by Brendan Ward) won first up in the 900m maiden sprint, running down outsider Kooky Kangaroo.
"We left the blinkers on him for this over 900m. We drew the outside barrier but I hoped he'd be fit enough for this and he finished off quite nice," O'Prey said, adding that they'll target a sprint on Wodonga Cup day.
