WAGGA PROJECTS FOR EVERYONE
Despite that which many believe, NSW does not stand for, nor represent, Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong; it actually is an abbreviation for New South Wales in its entirety of land mass and people.

We hear very little about economic business cases, stacking up or otherwise, from anyone when government invests billions of dollars in opera houses or sports stadia or the like when these are proposed in their version of NSW.
These investments done by government for the people should be assessed on the widest criteria rather than mere economic return.
The projects currently under the Independent Commission Against Corruption microscope are not only for Wagga residents but are for all the people of NSW, and all visitors, to enjoy when they come to Wagga Wagga; we do not discriminate.
The Wagga Wagga region, and rural Australia more generally, has provided Australia some of its greatest Australians, including many who today put their lives on the line to keep the rest of us safe.
We are deserving of the scraps given us.

BENEFITS OF GLOBAL WARMING
I took a drive around the countryside just the other day and after listening to all those tree-hugging Greenies and alarmists preaching about the dangers our planet is facing courtesy of global warming, I was pleasantly surprised to see the lush green pastures.
All the creeks were flowing and all the dams were full. And, according to media reports, this year in Australia we have had record bumper crop harvests.
We've got that much produce coming off our farms we are running out of space to store it! Amazing isn't it?
I have been on this planet for some considerable years yet, this year is one of the coldest spring seasons that I have ever experienced in my lifetime.
And it would be remiss of me if I didn't mention that the islands to our north that are supposed to be sinking because of global warning.
However, according to scientific research, they are actually increasing in land mass.
After weighing up all the factual and positive data, this made me think that perhaps all those Greenies and their ilk who are predicting the end of the world is nigh unless we cool our planet, might just be hugging the wrong kind of trees?
In my humble opinion, and I am certain that the farming communities would agree, if this is what we can expect from global warming - bring it on!

CONCERN OVER LACK OF ACTION
I couldn't agree more with Dr Luke Mitchell that the lack of real climate action by our federal government is extremely worrying ("Regions need action on climate change now", The Daily Advertiser, October 25).
But let's stay hopeful for at least two reasons.
Firstly, the organisers at COP26 will stay convincingly strong for action, so lagging countries may well learn and agree to accept any internationally offered clean energy aid and expertise.
Secondly, in our case we can soon elect a far more science-minded federal government and then get on with full, emergency action.
Many Aussies like me, a great-grandmother, will never give up until we win for the climate and our future.
