The man, who was aged in his 60s, acquired his infection at the Mercy Place aged care home in Albury.

NSW Health said the man had received two doses of the COVID vaccine.

He is the second resident at the facility to pass away after contracting COVID this week, after a man in his 90s died on Tuesday.

NSW recorded 332 new locally acquired cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Friday, including 37 in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

32 of these cases are in the Albury LGA, including six at the Mercy Place aged care facility.

Two are residents in the Berrigan LGA while Edward River, Greater Hume and Federation each recorded one new case.

The new cases bring the total number of active cases in the MLHD to 255, of which 182 have been in Albury.

The MLHD is urging residents in Albury, Berrigan, Murray River, Federation and Greater Hume LGAs to limit their movements in and out of the community and to regularly get tested.
