For more than 30 years, the Friends of the Library (FOTL) volunteers have acted as a link between the library and the community. As the library commences an expansion of services across the city and villages, FOTL invites new members to share their expertise and knowledge from a range of diverse backgrounds.
FOTL invites new members to share their expertise and knowledge.
It would be wonderful to have younger adult members, parents of young children, people from culturally and linguistically diverse groups, and people from different accessibility backgrounds, to participate in FOTL projects.
These include supporting author talks, One Book One Wagga, Language Café, Technology classes, Science Festivals, and exciting programs for every age group.
FOTL membership is a great way to find out what's happening in the library behind the scenes.
The annual membership fee is $10 for individuals, and $15 for families. Members meet every second Tuesday of the month, and new membership forms are available at the library's front desk, or via the library's website.
Wagga library is hosting a 'Speechie Library Talk' on November 2 at 9.30am.
Your free ticket allows you to meet a local speech pathologist, and to find out more about how you can support your child's language and literacy development at home.
This event is aimed at parents, but children are welcome to attend.
Please book a ticket for every person attending, provide proof of vaccination at the door for people over 16, and wear a mask while indoors.
