On Monday, the Cartwrights Hill CWA branch, consisting of six members, celebrated its 70th anniversary with a luncheon held at the Gardens Function Centre at the Botanic Gardens.
Sister branches from across the region also attended to join in the festivities.
Branch secretary Leola Hull has been a member for 58 years, with the CWA becoming a "big part of [her] life".
She first joined when she moved from Victoria to Cartwrights Hill as a newly-wed, attending with her mother-in-law as a way to meet new people.
In her almost six decades with the group, Mrs Hull said the number one takeaway has been the friendships.
"[We've also] raised funds to help people less fortunate than us [and help] people in disasters and things like that," she said.
Meanwhile, the Riverina Group CWA branch held a changeover luncheon on Wednesday to elect a new executive.
Kate Powell was named treasurer, Jacinta Finger named assistant secretary, Jane Lieschke named secretary and Carol Grylls named president.
Mrs Grylls is a new member with the CWA and said she is hoping to inspire younger women to step forward "so the CWA continues to grow".
Mrs Powell agreed with this sentiment, having been a member for her whole adult life guided by her nan, a lifetime member.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I think it's important to keep it all going so I was happy to step up," she said.
"There are a lot more younger members at the moment than there probably have been in the past.
"The friendship and social base is a lot better than some make out; a problem shared is a problem halved."
The Oura CWA branch has also welcomed a new executive this month, with a much-needed friendship luncheon held as COVID-19 restrictions eased.
Jenny Chobdysnski was elected president, Josie Hazelwood as secretary and Helen Irons as treasurer. Their first venture will be applying for education grants for local families.
Publicity officer Ann Adams said any women are welcome to attend the November 2 meeting at 9.30am at the Oura Community Centre.
"[It is] a great opportunity to join now as in 2022, CWA of NSW will be celebrating 100 years," she said.
Earlier in the year Oura branch members attended the annual general conference in Bega, and members returned with a number of prizes.
