DARYL MAGUIRE WAS 'A HELL OF A GOOD MEMBER FOR WAGGA'
I wish I'd written this a fortnight ago when I first thought of it and before all recent comments.

I think that the resignation of Gladys Berejiklian will prove a huge blow to NSW and, in its way, to Australia.
Her leadership of her team, in order, of Kerry Chant, then Dominic Perrottet and Brad Hazzard, plus the police and one or two others, got NSW through the pandemic in such good shape that we are setting the pace for all the other states, no matter what garbage they spout, especially Western Australia and Queensland, who will finish up way behind, full of un-vaccinated grizzlers.
NSW may have appeared messy at times, but we have turned out to be right in the end and they are all watching.
If I'd written a fortnight ago, I'd have warned our new Premier against acting hastily, but I am too late and he's been off like a rocket. I understand his logic but am very concerned about his rush.
If only he would take a pause for a moment and while he was there could he please acknowledge that none of the things he is doing would be possible if it wasn't for the sound base that Gladys Berejiklian has left him?
As for the money that Daryl Maguire managed to acquire for his Wagga electorate, I can only speak of my experience of The Range convention centre at the Clay Target Association's location.
I have been to two all-day seminars there and declare that it is a first-class institution for such events and, as I seem to remember, that it was up and running while others were still dithering over the erection of its equivalent elsewhere in the city.
At one conference I was at at the centre, we had to break up into four or five discussion groups.
The centre was able to slide out divisions to provide soundproof rooms for these groups. Miraculous.
And soundproofing was accidentally confirmed when a door between two of these rooms was accidentally opened.
My point is that the $5 million was fairly raised and was absolutely well spent.
I don't know enough about the Riverina Conservatorium of Music to comment, except it concerns me that progress seems a little slow.
As for Mr Maguire, he was a hell of a good Member for Wagga.
Speak to people in any of the outer towns and villages in this huge electorate and they will all say that whatever the event, he would be there, often to their complete surprise.
The perfect representative.
What a pity he had to smear his own reputation so badly, but worse, drag such a great Premier as Gladys Berejiklian down with him.

FORMER PREMIER A SCAPEGOAT
With all of that money from government, overseas, private and big business being pumped into NSW, the ICAC is getting stuck into Gladys over a couple of rare Wagga developments?
So does that leave the rest of them squeaky clean?
