Wagga's average for regular unleaded reached $1.59 on Tuesday, an eight cent increase in comparison to last month.
Oil companies have struggled to keep up with global demand which has coincided with the "steady" easing of COVID restrictions across Australia and the world.
NRMA spokesman Peter Khoury said current prices reflect the "artificial lid" oil producing countries have placed on production levels, with no indication of a lift anytime soon.
"There doesn't appear to be any indication that they're going to increase production levels in the next in the coming weeks," he said.
"Unfortunately, we're struggling to see where the relief will come from which isn't great news for motorists."

Sydney averaged a record of $1.70 per litre on Tuesday, reaching the the high point of the city's fuel price cycle.
Tweed Heads in the North East recorded the state's highest average of $1.80 per litre, in contrast to Gunnedah with the lowest price of $1.45.
Wagga currently sits "middle of the range" in comparison to the rest of the state, with no suggestion of when prices might fall.
Mr Khoury suggests motorists should shop around, with prices across Wagga for regular unleaded currently ranging from $1.49 per litre to $1.63.
"The best way to find the cheapest service stations is to do a bit of research before you fill up," he said.
