
Police are appealing for information after an attempted purse snatch in a Wagga ALDI car park at the weekend.
About 9.45am on Saturday, a 60-year-old woman was putting her shopping away in the car park of the supermarket on the corner of Forsyth and Berry Streets when an unknown man stole her handbag.

The woman and a member of the public began chasing the man until he dropped the handbag as he fled the scene, so she was able to retrieve it.

The man has been described as tall with a solid build.
A statement from NSW Police said that at the time, he was wearing dark-coloured knee-length shorts and a dark-coloured hoodie with an orange emblem on the back.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist with inquiries is urged to call Wagga Police on 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
