Residents are being urged to wait the correct time between their first and second doses of the COVID-19 jab.
The call comes as community members attempt to re-book their second appointment earlier, hoping to get their COVID vaccine passport and gain access to further freedoms under the state's reopening roadmap.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District chief executive Jill Ludford said it's vital people wait the recommended time in between doses - 21 days for Pfizer, four weeks for Moderna and up to 12 weeks for AstraZeneca.
"You wont get the efficacy ... from that vaccine that will protect you, your family and the community," she said.
Dr Ayman Shenouda, who operates the COVID vaccination hub at Glenrock Country Practice, said people are coming in early "a fair bit".
He said it is recommended people wait the full time between doses, but if not, it should be discussed with a GP so people "understand how much of a risk they are taking".
Ms Ludford suggested that bringing the second dose forward outside of the recommended timeframe may impact on people's ability to access their vaccine passport.
A spokesperson for the Department of Health said bringing forward the second dose will not impact someone's vaccination status, as long as it is within the approved timeframe.
Although the second dose of AstraZeneca can be administered as soon as four weeks after the first, a wait of 12 weeks is still recommended for people in non-outbreak settings.
The absolute minimum interval accepted between the first and second dose of any COVID vaccine is 14 days, however it is very rare the shots would occur this close together.

Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network COVID-19 Pandemic Lead Dr Alison Koschel said people's vaccination proof will be recorded on their immunisatino history statement after receiving both doses.
"Only official vaccination certificates will be sufficient proof of vaccination; vaccination appointment cards are not acceptable proof," she said.
"If you are eligible for Medicare, you can get proof of your COVID-19 vaccination through your Medicare online account, the Express Plus Medicare app, and My Health Record.
"If you are not eligible for Medicare, you can access your COVID-19 vaccination record at the Individual Healthcare Identifiers Service and the Australian Immunisation Register."
