A woman has been charged after a teenage girl was hit by a car on a suburban Wagga street.

About 4pm on Wednesday, police and paramedics were called to Chifley Crescent in Kooringal, after receiving the callout that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated a 17-year-old girl at the scene for minor injuries. She was taken to Wagga Base Hospital as a precaution.
Following inquiries, officers attached to Riverina Police District attended a home in Bingham Place, Tolland a short time later and arrested a 45-year-old woman.

The woman was taken to Wagga police station, where she was charged with knowingly drive vehicle in manner that menaces other. Police allege the driver failed to stop and render assistance.
The woman was granted conditional bail to appear in Wagga Local Court on December 1.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Eamonn Purcell said when paramedics were initially called to the scene it was following reports a young woman had been assaulted and then run over by a car.
"When we arrived, police were already there and there was a 17-year-old with minor injuries," he said.
"We then assessed and took her to hospital in a stable condition. [She had] limb and head pain."
