A 19-YEAR-OLD male had to be choppered from Leeton to Canberra on the weekend after he was allegedly stabbed during an assault.

Police said the assault happened sometime between 5.30pm and 6.20pm on Saturday at an address in Sycamore Street.
They allege the man was stabbed several times during the assault at this location.
The 19-year-old was taken to Leeton District Hospital and later flown to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition for treatment.

Police said at this stage the victim was "not co-operating with police", but they believe there were at least three males involved in the alleged assault and they were known to the man.
Witnesses who may have seen or heard anything in that area have been urged to contact Leeton police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 as they continue with their investigations.
Alleged drink driver busted by Leeton police
A 39-YEAR-OLD man will need to front court in Leeton after allegedly being caught drink driving on Sunday, October 10.
The man was stopped for a roadside breath test on Wamoon Avenue at 9.20am, returning a positive reading.
He was arrested and taken to Leeton police station where a further analysis returned a reading of 0.096.
The man's licence was suspended and he was charged to appear in Leeton Local Court at a later date.
