Works on the $1.5 million development of the restaurant began in May, and on Monday October 11, restaurant doors will be open to the public.
The shop will be the fourth KFC to open in Wagga, joining the Home Base KFC, the KFC on Fitzmaurice Street and a smaller shop front in the Sturt Mall.
IN OTHER NEWS:
A KFC spokesperson confirmed the opening day on Monday will include a few goodies on offer, with vouchers being handed out to the first customers.
In initial development application documents the restaurant was proposed to operate 24 hours, seven days a week, but the hours were amended after concerns were raised and the restaurant will operate from 10am to 10:30pm.
The site will also have a drive through and delivery option available.
The store will also create 44 new jobs in the area believed to be a mixture of casual, part time and permanent roles.
Ten new staff will be transferred from other local branches of the fast food chain on top of the 44 new positions available.
In a press release, new manager at the Glenfield store Tiffanie Evans said the store is anticipating foot traffic from South City shopping centre which is just across the carpark.
"The arrival of KFC in Glenfield Park is really exciting for us and local KFC fans," she said. "As our doors open to customers, we're looking forward to both locals and passers-by visiting South City Shopping Centre popping in to meet the team."
