The site, on Edward Street, sold earlier this year in a $3.2 million sale to the Sydney-based Dunn Group, which is also developing the Boorooma Service Station.
The director of the group, Ben Dunn, said it planned to submit a development application to expand the BP and to install a takeaway coffee service in early 2022.
"Our plan is also to put a development application in early next year to expand the shop and put drive through coffee in," Mr Dunn said.
"It would be like McDonalds or KFC, we'd have a full drive through set up but just for our Balmain coffee brand."

Teigan Basten-Hewitt, the manager of the BP Wagga servo, said she was sure the drive-through would be as well-received as it has been at their Sydney sites.
"It would bring the community something different they haven't had before," Ms Basten-Hewitt said.
Ms Basten-Hewitt recently relocated to Wagga to manage the flagship store, and said similar set ups in outer-Sydney had proved immensely popular.
"At the Katoomba site we can make 500 or 600 cups a day so we're hoping we get the same welcome here," she said.
The new service station coffee stop and the development at the Boorooma shops are the group's first forays into the regional market.
At the Edward Street site, Mr Dunn said he also hopes to see the existing small convenience store attached to the petrol station expanded into a larger shop with more employment opportunities.
"There would be more staff employed, but it depends how well the store goes, I think that once the drive-through is up we could employ 12 to 15 people," he said.
