A six-year-old boy has been killed in a single-vehicle crash in the Riverina region.

About 12:15pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to a section of Holbrook Road near Mangoplah, about 40 kilometres south of Wagga, following reports a Mitsubishi Triton had left the road and crashed into a tree.
The passenger of the vehicle was a six-year-old boy who tragically died at the scene.
In other news:
The driver of the vehicle - a 28-year-old man - suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Wagga Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers attached to Riverina Police District have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Holbrook Road remains closed in both directions about one kilometre south-east of Mangoplah with traffic diversions in place.
