The Bureau of Meteorology has released a severe weather update for Australia's east and stated there is the potential for flash flooding in some areas.
The region is likely to see showers and storms developing throughout Tuesday evening, as the weather trough moves west across the state.
Significant rainfall is predicted to drench the Riverina on Wednesday, as well as severe thunderstorms, gale force winds and large hail.

As of Tuesday, Blowering Dam in the Snowy Valley is at 94 per cent capacity, while Burrinjuck Dam in the Yass Valley sits at a capacity of 92 per cent.
"Burrinjuck Dam is likely to capture all additional inflows based on current forecasts, with releases being made in a controlled manner within channel capacity at Gundagai," Ms Davis said.
"There is the possibility of this dam spilling under the higher rainfall forecast.
"WaterNSW will continue to work in conjunction with, and consult, local advisory panels, comprised of landholders, local councils, the NSW State Emergency Service and other key stakeholders, to maximise resource availability, balance pre-releases for flood mitigation, ensure the safety of dam structures and prioritise the region's water security."
As of publication, the Bureau of Meteorology had not announced flood warnings within the region, but it maintains there is the potential for flash flooding due to the coming weather events.
