A Wagga man has appeared in court on a charge related to an armed robbery in Wagga earlier this month.

Following inquiries, just after 11.30am on Monday Riverina Police District officers attended a home on Churchill Avenue, Kooringal, and arrested Joshua Daniel Dayal, aged 30.
The arrest was in connection to an incident on September 13 when a man entered a store on Lake Albert Road, Kooringal just after 6am allegedly armed with an axe.
"He allegedly threatened the 32-year-old male store manager, while demanding cash and cigarettes before fleeing and dumping the axe in a nearby backyard," a police statement said.
"Officers attached to Riverina Police District were notified and established Strike Force Crailand to investigate the incident."

After the arrest on Monday, Mr Dayal was taken to Wagga Police Station where he was charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon.
He appeared in Wagga Local Court on Tuesday, where he was remanded to reappear on November 3.
