Following inquiries, just after 11.30am on Monday Riverina Police District officers attended a home on Churchill Avenue, Kooringal, and arrested Joshua Daniel Dayal, aged 30.
The arrest was in connection to an incident on September 13 when a man entered a store on Lake Albert Road, Kooringal just after 6am allegedly armed with an axe.
"He allegedly threatened the 32-year-old male store manager, while demanding cash and cigarettes before fleeing and dumping the axe in a nearby backyard," a police statement said.
