Trainer Geoff Duryea was pleased to see his star sprinter run second by four-lengths to the Mick Price-trained Lombardo who is touted as being a future group performer.
Front Page is at $8 for The Kosciuszko and Duryea said he won't race again ahead of the feature sprint on October 16.
"I was happy with the run on Friday night and more importantly the horse has pulled-up fine," Duryea said.
"I won't start him again before The Kosciuzko and Kerrin McEvoy is booked.
"By all reports Lombardo is a pretty smart horse and the trainer is talking group races with it.
"We led and had to do all the work into a head wind and we gave the winner 7kg.
"That's a lot of weight and he was never going to not run second because he was too strong for the rest of them.
"The way I see it the winner is a young horse on the way up, had a 7kg advantage, a cushy run and went bang.
"But I'm happy where my horse is at."
