The Murrumbidgee Local Heath District has recorded three new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8PM on Friday, bringing the region's total case numbers since the start of the recent outbreak to 25.

Two cases were residents of Albury and one case is a resident in the Hilltops LGA with all new cases household contacts of a previously reported cases and in home isolation.
The MLHD has also released ten new locations of concern in the region, more details can be found here.

These new cases bring the total number of cases in Hilltops LGA to 18 and Albury LGA to seven.
Sewage testing also detected fragments of COVID-19 in Balranald in the far west of the Riverina NSW Health's Dr Jeremy McNulty confirmed on Saturday morning.

The news comes as certain LGAs in the MLHD remain under lockdown orders.
Sadly, 11 people lost their lives with the illness in the 24 hour window, bringing the state total deaths in the current outbreak to 288.
57.8 per cent of the state's population is now double vaccinated as the state approaches the 70% vaccination milestone.

Meanwhile the total number of first-dose vaccines administered is now 84.7 per cent.
The total number of vaccines administered in the state so far has hit 9.4 million doses.
Dr McNulty confirmed there are currently 1187 patients in hospital with COVID-19, with 229 in intensive care and 118 requiring ventilation.
