WAGGA City Council is confident the Multisport Cycling Complex at Pomingalarna Reserve will be well equipped to attract high profile events to the city when it is completed early next year.

The $12 million project is about 80 per cent complete, with facilities like the pump track and jump track already available for use by the public.
Media were given a tour of the picturesque location on Wednesday, with work well underway on the criterium track and the velodrome almost complete.
Council were also granted funding in July to build a BMX track as part of the facility, which will also accommodate mountain bikers.
Wagga Council's strategic asset planner Ben Creighton said they had worked closely with cycling groups to ensure the facility is capable of bidding for big events.
"We've had great input from our local, national and state cycling bodies to ensure this facility isn't just a great community asset, but we can hold large scale events into the future which will be great for the Wagga community," he said.

"It's going to be able to let us be recognised as a cycling centre.
"There's some great facilities around the country at the moment, and part of those discussions is working with those communities to try and sort out some series across both the state and interstate."
Creighton said they are already liaising with BMX group regarding hosting future events.
"The BMX track is really starting to take shape. All the design work is complete. We're having some conversations at the moment on what events we can attract, and when we can get those events to the city," he said.
"We're at the point we're the velodrome is all but completed, it'll have its final asphalt seal next week.
"At the moment we're about 80 per cent progressed, and subject to COVID or any wet weather in the future we anticipate we'll finish early next year.
"There's a lot of benefits for the broader community as well. Even for safety aspects if you wanted to do some training with young children, we do have a learn to ride facility. But you can also ride in a nice environment out here away from the roads and that risk.
Wagga bike rider Oliver Kimber, 12, said the facility was a godsend for youngsters looking to get into the sport.
"It's nice having a lot of different stuff here like the pump track and velodrome. it'll be great. It'll draw in a lot more mountain bikers and even roadies," he said.
