It has been a long time between drinks but London Lady broke her drought in a big way.
Unplaced in her last 28 starts, the six-year-old was able to turn things around to take out the Village Jolt @ Lochend Stud Ladyship Pace (1740m) at Riverina Paceway on Friday.
Reinsman Damon Watson thought things panned out perfectly.
"She went good," Watson said.
"She's had some different work and today was her day.
"The draw helped and sitting behind the leader she got a good run.
"When she got past the one I thought Blake (Jones on Sasha) would get her to the sprint lane and he got her there quick enough and she did the rest."
Trained by Watson's father Chris, London Lady used the sprint lane to down Sasha by a neck.
It was her first win since November.
The mare came to the Wagga father and son combination with brilliant form, winning five of her previous seven starts for David Kennedy.
It left her on a challenging mark but the daughter of Safari has been able to drop back to a much more suitable grade.
"Her last five runs have been great with two fourths and a fifth and now there's a win there," he said.
"Her last race she was right in it when she got checked and was still in the money.
"It's taken her awhile but she's had a spell and has come back firing."
Watson thought a change to her training regime has also worked wonders.
Now she's doing a lot more swimming and it's helped turn around her form.
In fact Watson believes their whole team has appreciated the different approach.
"We might have been trackworking her too hard," he said.
"We've got a pretty big dam and a few of our horses are in it and they've gone ."
The mare was bred by Sharon Wheatley.
Her husband Kevin also tasted success as an owner with Are Doubleyou breaking through.
Wheatley trained the six-year-old to five of his now seven career wins before sending him to Kennedy.
After finishing second in three of his first five starts, he powered home to clock a new best mile rate of 1:53.0 and provide Kennedy and Jackson Painting with a double.
They also won with Louthario.
