The 57-year-old Armidale resident just claimed his 50^th Guinness World Record (GWR) title for the most chopsticks thrown in one minute after an intense attempt on Monday.

He's just been announced the Australian ambassador for GWR in 2022, he only eats meat and potatoes, he's good mates with the world's smallest woman and teaches woodworking at one of the local high schools.

"I actually set the record in China 10 years ago with 18, someone beat me at 19 and I got 21 this time to have my 50^th record," Mr Kelly said.

"It's about me finding that I'm still capable to focus and do the challenges I want to do and that drives me to do it.

"I have the record for the fastest tennis ball caught at 300 kilometres per hour, people can't believe a person my age - and I don't feel old - can do this.

"Whether it's throwing, catching or coaching I have the drive to do it and I love doing it, I like showing off and the thrill of it, telling the kids about it and the crazy people I meet."

Growing up as one of five boys in the 70s, Mr Kelly jokingly said it was a "necessity" to learn a bit of self-defence and that's where his love of martial arts began. And, at 57 with 50 world records, he shows no signs of slowing down.

"I have a couple of really special records I want to see if i I can do," he said. "I want to show people that with the right training you can do almost anything."
