Several businesses in Wagga and Young have this week been declared sites of concern in the wake of an essential worker passing spending a number of days in both towns before being diagnosed with COVID-19.

The Mantra Pavilion was added to NSW Health's venues of concern late on Thursday evening, as was a motel in Young.

NSW Health advises the central Wagga hotel is a casual contact site and anyone who was at the venue, located at 22-30 Kincaid Street, over several days early in the month must get tested and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.

NSW Health lists the days of concern as all day on Thursday, September 2, and all day on Friday, September 3, however Murrumbidgee Local Health District advises a broader window of Monday, August 30 to September 3.

More recent visitors should also follow further precautions, get secondary testing and limit their interactions.

"If your date of exposure occurred in the last four days, you must get another test on day five from the date of exposure," NSW Health advised on its website.

"Wear a mask around others and limit your movements until you get another negative result.

"You should continue to monitor for symptoms and if any symptoms occur, get tested again."

Young's Cherry Blossom Motor Inn has also been deemed a casual contact exposure site over five days, with anyone who was at the motel from Friday, September 3 to Tuesday, September 7 requiring a test and isolation until a result is received.

Anyone with the mildest of symptoms is also urged to come forward for testing. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose and loss of taste or smell. Other symptoms include fatigue, acute blocked nose (congestion), muscle pain, joint pain, headache, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, unexplained chest pain and conjunctivitis.

COVID-19 testing is available in Wagga at 84-86 Murray Street from 9am to 4pm, and the drive-through centre at Equex on Copland Street between 10am and 6pm, seven days a week.

The Murrumbidgee Local Health District is operating a walk-in clinic at the Young Town Hall from 10am to 4pm on Friday, and a drive-through GP-led clinic operates at the Young Showground on Murringo Raod between 9am and 3pm.

The Pavilion's addition to the state's exposure site list is the fifth Wagga venue in recent days.

A bakery, service station, Woolworths and pharmacy were listed on Wednesday after an essential worker spent four days in the city before moving on to Young early in September.

They visited Woolworths and Northside Pharmacy in Gurwood Street on August 30, Caltex Northend on Fitzmuarice Street the following evening, and O'Brien's Hot Bake early in the morning on September 3. All four are listed as casual contact sites for specified times.

The Woolworths and BWS in Young were also listed as casual contact venues at the same time, between 3.15pm and 4pm on Friday, September 3.

The Sydney-Melbourne XPT is also of serious concern, with the passenger train listed as a close contact venue between Central Station and Albury on Sunday, September 12 between 7.43am and 3.18pm.

Anyone who was on the train that day must get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result, and call 1800 943 553 unless they have already been contacted by NSW Health.
