Last night the Murrumbidgee Local Health District confirmed that six venues of concern in the Riverina are linked to an essential worker who travelled through the region and has since tested positive for COVID-19.

Co-owner of Wagga's Northside Pharmacy on Gurwood Street, Kellie Howard, said that all staff present at the time of exposure have been tested and returned a negative result.

"We take our COVID safety plan very seriously because we really care about our customers and our staff, and we want to make sure we're doing the best thing for them," she said.

The pharmacy has a strict COVIDSafe policy with cleaning measures, QR and manual check in's, mask wearing and hand sanitising.

The COVID-positive worker visited the pharmacy on August 30, and Ms Howard said the fact this was over two weeks ago gives them confidence, as well as the fact that all staff have tested negative.

The pharmacy wasn't told to close by NSW Health but they did so anyways, cleaning the premises and taking the pressure off the two remaining staff members who hadn't been exposed.

Ms Howard said she wants customers to feel confident, and urged anyone with concerns to give her a call.

"I want them to feel comfortable," she said.

Staff at O'Brien's Hot Bake Bakery in Wagga were only notified of the COVID exposure on September 3 yesterday.

Manager Cassie O'Brien said the four or five staff members on-site at the time have been tested, and most have already returned a negative result.

"Technically we can re-open [the bakery], however we're choosing not to to make sure everything's safe for our customers and staff," she said.

"We're confident with our COVIDSafe plan and that we've put in all the measures we need to make sure we're operating safely."

Mrs O'Brien said that most of the staff are vaccinated with at least their first dose, and that as a family business it is a conversation they have regularly.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed below is a casual contact and must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.
