But while the pandemic and health authorities had other ideas, Hogg will use the season cancellation to put some "fire in the belly" to get the job done next year.
While nothing is official as yet, Hogg is keen to coach again next year and get a chance to build on a 14-2 record this season.
The Saints won the minor premiership on percentage after Charles Sturt University and Temora finished with the same record.

Hogg was part of a handful of Demons side which fell just short in grand finals, and she said the Saints squad is keen to stay together.
"It is disappointing and they (AFL Riverina) are just doing what the health authorities have told them to do. They've done their best throughout the whole season (to get it finished)," Hogg said.
"I'm appreciative for a (regular) season at least, it's tough about finals but they tried their best and that's all we can ask for really.
"I'm disappointed but I was definitely expecting it. Three teams on the same wins, it would have been good to play finals but we want to keep everyone safe in the end."
Hogg, who is also part of Wagga Netball's junior representative coaching set-up, said she's hopeful of building her coaching skills next year.
"I'm definitely keen after this year. It's put a lot more fire in my belly to go out and do it again," she said.
"The girls are all keen to get back into it, and hopefully have a better end to the season. The players made it a very easy job to be honest, they were very supportive and the club was my first year there too."
Hogg said the lack of representative chances for the city's younger crop of players the past two yeras is a shame.
"We were lucky the 17s and 15s got to go away to state age championships (where both teams won division two) before everything got cancelled," she said
