An NSW based fertility clinic is advising pregnant women and those who are trying to conceive that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are safe for pregnant women.

Genea medical director Mark Bowman made the statement after learning that some women were feeling anxious about their fertility and getting a COVID-19 vaccination.
He said evidence has shown that the vaccines are safe for pregnant women, pregnant women have a higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19, and babies have a higher risk of being born prematurely.
"To be very clear, women who are trying to conceive do not need to delay vaccination or avoid becoming pregnant after vaccination," he said.

"Real-world evidence has shown that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are safe for pregnant women.
"Women and men should not be concerned that any of the vaccinations offered in Australia, will impact their fertility."
Mr Bowman said there was also no evidence that Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca will impact the health and number of eggs a woman has, nor her ability to carry a child.
