No premiers are expected to be awarded with community sport unable to resume despite lockdown easing across the Riverina on Saturday.

This weekend was the last chance given by Southern Inland to enable the top two sides in each grade the time to prepare for a grand final to be played on September 25.

Southern Inland president Warwick Grant does not expect the board's stance to change.

"We've got a board meeting and we will make our decisions," Grant said.

"I would say the status quo of the previous decisions will stand."

Wagga City were unbeaten in first grade but Southern Inland had announced no premierships would be awarded without a grand final being played.

It shapes as a disappointing end to the season with Southern Inland just managing to complete the 18 rounds minutes before the snap lockdown last month.

However there were a number of issues surrounding Albury's involvement due to Victorian lockdowns and border bubble issues.

"They have given us some freedoms and while I haven't had the chance to study it in full detail I see there is no community sport," Grant said.

"I don't know if there is a timeframe on that but really this week was our last throw of the dice."

Ground availability would have been another concern if the season pushed into October to allow time for maintenance to be completed before the change of season.
