A Wagga man will contest the accusation of armed robbery against him at trial after pleading not guilty to the offence.

Duane Mark Ashton, 40, appeared via video link in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday where his solicitor entered the plea and confirmed the matter would go to trial.
The Mount Austin man was arrested on March 17 by police who allege he threatened the occupant of an Ashmont home with a sword, before demanding cash and a mobile phone.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Mr Ashton remains in custody and will appear before a judge at Wagga District Court on October 15 where legal parties will confirm the trial date.
A woman has also been charged over the same incident and her matters remains before Wagga Local Court.
She is yet to enter any pleas to the charge of robbery armed with offensive weapon.
