The fifth and final leg of the series scheduled for next Sunday, the Geoff Dixon Memorial run by Albury-Wodonga Cycling Club, has been postponed, but there are still hopes it could be run at a later date.
If the race doesn't go ahead, the committee will make a decision on whether to award the series crown to the current leader, Tolland Cycling Club's Andrew Piffero.
Piffero leads by two points from clubmate Daniel Addison with Griffith's Stephen Bertoldo a point further back.
IN OTHER NEWS
AusCycling has recently taken over control of the states, with Cycling NSW effectively dissolved.
It could open the door for the Tour de Riverina races to be part of an expanded series next year.
"All states are run by AusCycling now, it's one big body," Tour de Riverina organiser Barry O'Hagan said.
"The Tour de Riverina is only allowed five different clubs into the series, but it's open slather now if we have interclub races.
"If it goes ahead it would be good, because the more cycling opportunities there are the better."
