The season has now been on hold for three weeks since the state-wide lockdown was introduced on September 15.
Catanzariti felt there was a general effort from all clubs to try and get a season completed.
"Football Wagga have a plan in place, and there is going to have to be a time where we call it quits because we are just going to run out of time," he said.
"I'd like to see that process exhausted, and then at the very least, I think there should be some sort of recognition whether it be for minor premiership or something like that.
"I think we have actually had more of a season this year than last as far as games played. It's just with the time of the year that it (COVID) has hit at the back end of the season, and that isn't ideal."
Cantanzariti is also realistic about the chances they will probably end up not having a say in the way the season comes to a completion.
"I also don't know what the government's attitude is towards community sport," he said.
"They may say that we are coming out of lockdown, and that's fine, but there is no community sport for the rest of the year.
"We really are at the mercy of government protocol."
Hanwood as a club were in a great position with all five grades looking like they would be playing finals with first-grade men's and women's and second-grade women's sitting in first place.

Catanzariti said it was great to see the club achieving its goals.
"That has been something that we have worked towards since we have come into Wagga," he said.
"It's not just one team doing it, it's very much a club approach, and I guess it is the coaches and players attitudes that are the driving force behind that.
"To see five teams fighting it out in finals, we are really proud of that."
In what is their first season in the competition, the second-grade women's have been setting the field on fire, sitting at the top of the pile with nine wins from 11 games and ahead of Lake Albert on goal difference.
"There are a lot of young kids in that team, and they are playing against mature women, and to be able to be in the finals mix, there is massive for them," he said.
Off the field, the club is also still heading in a positive direction despite the challenges of the last 18 months.
"We have got new lights going in, and sponsors are on board, player numbers are through the roof, so we are really happy," he said.
