The Personnel Group (TPG) is a premier Riverina DES (disability employment services) provider for people with a disability or mental health condition and young people at risk of long-term unemployment.

For 35 years the regional not-for-profit organisation has delivered DES programs across northern Victoria and southern NSW and has been a proud part of the Wagga Wagga community for more than 10 years.

"Employers have trusted The Personnel Group to match candidates to vacancies for 35 years because we're all about the right fit. That means putting people first," The Personnel Group CEO Tracey Fraser said.

"We help local employers find staff who are right for the role and right for their business."

The Personnel Group provides a range of pre- and post-employment supports and referral services to people with a disability or mental health condition and provides an upskilling IT literacy program, Career Transition Assistance, for over 45s who are receiving employment supports through jobactive.

The organisation's Transition to Work helps people aged 15-24 who have not achieved year 12 and are at significant risk of becoming long term unemployed because of their low education levels and non-vocational barriers. Demand for services has increased significantly in the past 12 to 18 months, especially in the youth unemployment space.

"To cater for this increased need, and to localise support, TPG has opened a full-time office in Tolland and started more intense services to Kooringal in addition to our office in central Wagga," area manager Tom Ness said.

"It means TPG is the only full-time employment supports provider for the Tolland community, an area of great need."

The Personnel Group has also focused on building stronger connections with local employers and service providers through the Community Champions program. The strategy was set up to find employers who would, if they had the right role, hire a vulnerable jobseeker.

"We have secured more than 120 community champions in the Wagga area," regional manager Mel Norris said.

"Over the past year, with the support of our team members, more than 350 people across the region have been able to secure and maintain employment."
