Dr Ayman Shenouda at the Glenrock Country Practice vaccination hub said that vaccine supply from the federal government has already been increased once, and will be increased a second time in the near future.
From August 30, people aged 16 to 39 will become eligible for the Pfizer vaccine.
A fortnight later on September 13, children aged 12 to 15 will also become eligible for Pfizer.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Dr Shenouda said that vaccines will "absolutely" be offered for children through his clinic, and that discussions are ongoing with the Catholic church to facilitate the vaccination of high school students.
He said that the clinic is also continuing to work with the federal government to increase supply of Pfizer.
"They are aware of this problem and I haven't heard anything negative from the government about increasing supply," Dr Shenouda said.
Deputy premier John Barilaro said he is expecting an announcement from the federal government about an increased Pfizer supply to follow the news that children over 12 will be included in the rollout.
While some regions across NSW are offering the second dose of AstraZeneca as early as four weeks after the first, Dr Shenouda said at this stage, his clinic is suggesting the 12 week wait, as the region is low-risk.
"The case is very clear in Sydney that people can bring this up earlier," he said.
If Wagga was to become higher-risk, Dr Shenouda said the clinic would be able to accomodate the four-week interval instead.
"I think the clinic is prepared," he said.
"We would have to communicate faster with the department to be able to [get more] supply."
According to ATAGI (the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation), early trials of AstraZeneca suggest there is higher vaccine efficacy with a longer interval between the two doses.
