A man has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars in jewellery while armed with a knife in Ashmont earlier this year.

On Wednesday, Aaron John Little, 36, was represented at Wagga Local Court by a solicitor who informed the magistrate he was seeking a one-week adjournment.
"There is an offer from the defence; I understand the DPP [Director of Public Prosecutions] are taking a week to consider it," he said.

Little has yet to enter a plea to the charge of robbery armed with an offensive weapon and remains in custody after being refused bail.
Prosecutors allege that the Ashmont man stole a bracelet worth $7499 and rings worth $1200, among other items, while armed with a karambit knife.
Magistrate Christopher Halburd adjourned the matter for one week to allow for further negotiations.
