A woman who allegedly coughed on a police officer at Deniliquin has been charged with breaching the public health order.

The incident allegedly occurred when police were conducting a welfare check at a home at Russell Street in Deniliquin about 10.30pm on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, a female resident allegedly became aggressive and verbally abusive towards police.
The woman was given a warning about using offensive language but failed to comply and was issued an infringement.

The 39-year-old woman was issued a court attendance notice and charged with not comply with noticed direction - spitting/coughing, give false information to convey fear of danger, and use offensive language in/near public place.
She is due to appear in Deniliquin Local Court on November 5.
