Haddrill was set to be part of a Northern Jets team looking to continue their strong record against North Wagga this year in Sunday's Farrer League elimination final at Gumly Oval.
But the NSW Government's snap lockdown last Saturday resulted in the decision to postpone the Farrer League finals series by a week.
The Jets haven't played finals since 2016 and Haddrill was looking forward to seeing how far they can go.
"I think we played some pretty good footy this year," Haddrill said.
"Our goal at the start was to try and make the finals, we haven't done it for a few years now and we achieved that goal and we did play some good footy there in patches.
"It was just that consistency hurt us a bit and we dropped a couple of games that we should have won and it might come back to bite us in the end."
The Jets finished fifth, after losing two of their final three games of the season to East Wagga-Kooringal and Temora.
It left them a game, plus percentage, from fourth. The Rock-Yerong Creek, who finished third, were only another game on top of that.
With the uncertainty of COVID-19 and lockdowns surrounding the business end of the season, Haddrill understands it may be the Jets that miss out.
"I don't know what the go is with finals but if the lockdown gets pushed back another week or something like that, if someone's got to miss out then obviously it's going to be fifth, and that's us," he said.
"That's the way it is. It is what it is. There's not much you can do about it. That's on us, really, for dropping games that we should have won."

Haddrill looks back on the loss to their arch-rivals, Temora, who had only won two games for the season to that point, as one that cost the Jets.
"I think we went into Temora a bit complacent after our big win earlier in the year, they obviously had a few out that day and got a few back, and they also seem to find another gear against us at home," he said.
"We probably approached that game a little bit too easily and paid the price for it and it might come back to bite us now with this situation with finals."
Regardless of how far the Jets go, or if they are included in any revamped series, Haddrill wants to see finals go ahead.
"It would be good to see one go ahead," he said.
"We've come this far with the season. I think we're lucky compared to other leagues, we've actually got a full home and away season in, that's one positive, but now that you've come this far, someone deserves to win the flag.
"It would be nice if that was us."
